Thanksgiving In February

Every November, New York is abounding with Thanksgiving meals for the poor, served in many locations across town. Unfortunately, with the passing of the holidays, many New Yorkers refocus their energy to their personal lives and pass over the needs of the less fortunate. "Thanksgiving in February" hosts and serves over 900 people from our Food Pantries every year to a sit-down Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings, long after the holidays, when the poor are forgotten and the winter shuts in seniors and children.

Face painters, magicians, and musicians join the guests in the beautiful setting of the Ballroom of the Affinia Manhattan Hotel to lift the spirit as the body is strengthened with nourishment. Our volunteers reignite the holiday spirit in themselves as they serve their neighbors in need.
